HARDWICK – Sarah Ainsworth has been appointed as assistant principal of the Mountain View Union Elementary School District, which serves students across three campuses in Hardwick Elementary, Woodbury Elementary, and Lakeview Early Education Center. She fills the position vacated by Kate Gascoyne, who has been named principal of Wolcott Elementary School.

Ainsworth specializes in social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and restorative practices. She is known for using data-informed decision-making.
“Sarah’s commitment to students, staff, and continuous improvement makes her an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Bill Deiss, principal at Hardwick Elementary School. “Her experience in SEL, PBIS and restorative practices aligns with Mountain View Union’s mission to create supportive learning environments where every student can succeed.”
“Sarah brings experience working in many roles in the public school system,” said Beth Parker, principal at Woodbury Elementary and Lakeview Early Education Center. “This lens, coupled with a passion for systems that support SEL, makes her an excellent addition to our district. Her vision for relationship-building and collaboration will help support student achievement and promote equitable outcomes for all learners.”
Ainsworth begins her new role on July 1, 2026.
