Free Workshops for Teens to Promote Healthy Living

BURLINGTON – Teens interested in exploring pathways to wellness and healthy living are invited to attend a series of free workshops this spring.

The interactive workshops, led by University of Vermont (UVM) 4-H staff and faculty, staff and medical students from the UVM Larner College of Medicine will take place on the UVM campus. Students in Grades 8-12 are eligible and may sign up for one or more workshops. Anyone attending all three will earn a certificate of completion.

Workshop dates and topics include:

March 30, noon to 2 p.m.: Healthcare and Healthy Living: Careers in healthcare and factors that go into living a healthy life; April 4, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Prevention Strategies: What you can do to enhance personal and community health; May 4, noon to 2 p.m.: What is mental health and why is it important for overall health?

Register at go.uvm.edu/hheroes. Registration will close three days prior to each session or when filled. Location and parking info will be emailed to registrants.
