Pysanky Workshop March 23

CRAFTSBURY – The Craftsbury Public Library will host a pysanky egg dying workshop on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pysanky, a Ukrainian art of dying eggs, is an art form that uses beeswax to draw patterns on the egg.  Older children and adults are welcome to join us at the library to play with pysanky design.  Supplies and some eggs will be provided.  Contributions of blown or raw eggs are welcome. Pysanky dyes are vibrant but are not considered non-toxic. Dyes and the use of an open flame while creating pysanky makes this activity unsuitable for young children. Instead, there will be an egg decorating station in the children’s room with non-toxic dyes for younger children to use. For more information, contact the library at (802) 586-9683.
