Development Review Board Considers Pedestrian Bridge, Civic Standard Change of Use Requests

HARDWICK – Hardwick Zoning Administrator Kristen Leahy has announced a public hearing of the Hardwick Development Review Board to be held on the third floor of the Memorial Building Wednesday, April 3, beginning at 7 p.m., for two conditional use reviews.

The first is to review reconstruction planned for the Pedestrian Bridge over the Lamoille River. The property is in the central business zoning district and in the floodway of the Lamoille River, located between 42 South Main Street and 74 South Main Street.

At 7:30 p.m. they will take up a Conditional Use and Flood Plain Review for a requested change of use by The Civic Standard from an historic non-conforming structure into a community center, cultural facility and office. This property is the former Hardwick Gazette building, next to the bridge first being considered, and is also in the central business zoning district and the floodway of the Lamoille River at 42 South Main Street.

Leahy’s letter reads, “participation in this local proceeding is a prerequisite to the right to take any subsequent appeal. Persons wishing to be heard may join the hearing virtually or in person or be represented by an authorized agent or attorney at the hearing.”

A virtual option is available through Zoom with meeting number 826 2915 9261 and passcode 212042. You may phone into the Zoom meeting at: 301-715-8592.

The applications are available for inspection in the Hardwick Memorial Building or on the Hardwick website hardwickvt.gov/government/committees-commissions/development-review-board/
