HARDWICK – The first prize winner of the Daughters of American Revolution Essay Contest was Matthew Califano from Craftsbury Common. He was presented a certificate and a medal at the DAR meeting on April 20th. Califano also won first prize at the state level and 3rd prize at the New England Division. The essay contest was sponsored by the St. John de Crevecoeur Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The next essay contest will start in September.
