ST. JOHNSBURY – The Northeast Kingdom Artisans Guild’s Backroom Gallery will feature Fiona Cooper Fenwick’s landscape paintings from August 23 through September 27. The opening reception will be August 30, during St. Johnsbury’s Final Friday Celebration from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a 15% discount off her work throughout the day.
Fiona Cooper Fenwick’s Vermont landscapes are not only evocative of place, but they illustrate a narrative. Working with brush and palette knife, an integral part of Fenwick’s paintings are paint application and surface texture. She pushes color, contrast, and abstraction within both her plein-air and studio works. Palette knife over brush work and brush work over palette knife each have a voice in her newest works.
