VERMONT – On August 26, President Biden approved Vermont’s Major Disaster Declaration request. This Declaration authorized Vermont to receive “individual assistance,” which includes Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA)

DUA is a federal program designed to help people who lost their jobs because of a natural disaster. This program gives temporary money to those who don’t qualify for regular unemployment benefits. Claimants in eligible counties have until October 25, to apply for DUA benefits.

Eligible Vermont counties include Caledonia, Lamoille, Orleans and Washington

For those who believe they may qualify for DUA, call 877-214-3330 (Monday through Friday).
