Civic Standard Ofrendas in Peace Park

Share article

HARDWICK – The Civic Standard is collecting Ofrendas in the park next door.

Many people make altars or ofrendas (offerings) in their homes to honor their loved ones who have passed on as a part of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The ofrenda represents a remembrance of the departed and a celebration of their lives.

For those who would like to honor the memory of someone, bring a copy of a photo, small items of remembrance or write a note to leave in the communal altar.

The altar will be set up in the Peace Park, next door to the Civic Standard, and ready for contributions starting on October 27 (at the Jack-o-lantern contest). It will remain in the park until November 6. The Civic Standard is at 42 S. Main St. Learn more at thecivicstandard.org
