Share article

HARDWICK – Dave Mitchell, retired science teacher and amateur geologist, will lead an exploration of the geology of Hardwick on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 9 a.m. beginning at the Hardwick Trail Kiosk. Hardwick used to be the bottom of a glacial lake and the bedrock of the Hardwick area was formed in a shallow, warm sea. Everyone is welcome at this free event sponsored by the Hardwick Trails Committee. Participants should be prepared for a two-mile walk so please wear sturdy shoes and walking poles/stick are highly recommended. Hardwick Trails Kiosk is located behind the parking lot of Hazen Union School. In case of rain, the event will occur Sunday, Nov. 3. For more information, email
