AREA TOWNS – Energy Committees in towns in northern Vermont have partnered with Maine-based WindowDressers to host community builds in fall 2025 to help neighbors stay warm while lowering energy costs. WindowDressers insulating window inserts are custom fit inside existing windows to let in sunlight and views, while keeping heat inside the home. The inserts are high quality and low cost because they are built at barn-raising-style community builds across Vermont. Because inserts are made to fit specific windows, they are measured by local teams in the summer and early fall. Sign-up is now available for the service. Energy Committee volunteers are measuring windows this summer. To see the complete list of Vermont towns, learn more and sign up for inserts and to volunteer visit windowdressers.org.
