ST. JOHNSBURY – The Vermont Lions Cup girls roster was released last week, recognizing the top high school soccer seniors in the state as they ready to take on New Hampshire this summer in the 51st Annual Lions Cup Twin State soccer match this coming summer.
St. Johnsbury Academy’s Addison Ely led the way for local selections as one of the premier defenders in the state. Ely helped lead the Lady Hilltoppers to the Division I Final Four last fall with a 10-5-1 record. Joining Ely on the backline will be Oxbow’s Natalie Spear. The Mountain League standout helped turn the Lady Olympian soccer program completely around in 2025 with a 10-4-2 record. Rounding out the Vermont roster was: North Country’s Annabella Aiken, U-32’s Morgan Towne, Ashtin Stearns and Ava Francis of Vergennes, Peyton Borick of Rice, Emma Hodgson and Hazel Fry of Essex, CVU’s Rachel Bialowoz and Reese Kingsbury, Spaulding’s Sophie Guarriello, Colchester’s Brinlee Gilfillan, Poultney’s Eme Silverman, Brattleboro’s Reese Croutworst, South Burlington’s Reese Gordon, Sofia Randall and Chloe DeJong of MMU, Hartford’s Harper Traendly, Windsor’s Kenzie Wescott, MAU’s Ella Palisano and Marlie Bushey of Milton.
Twinfield-Cabot’s Jola Otten and Peoples Academy’s Noah Brown were named to the Vermont boys roster late last month.
Vermont will square off against New Hampshire’s top seniors on July 18.
