Defend democracy

Share article

To the editor:

Our Constitutional democracy is imperiled. The recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to allow Louisiana to redraw its Congressional districts is emboldening other southern states to gerrymander their maps in favor of Republicans prior to the 2026 election.

Please join a dedicated group of volunteers in writing “Get Out the Vote” postcards to registered Democrat voters in key swing states. The cards, stamps and instructions will be provided, and can be written from your own home, or at a group writing session on Thursday, 14 May at 7 pm in the Parker Ladd Community Room at the Jeudevine Library, 93 N. Main St., Hardwick. Monthly writing sessions are planned on the first Monday of each of month through November.

Please indicate how many postcards you would like to write, and whether in the group or at home by sending an email to [email protected]
