AREA TOWNS – Thursday, July 23, the University of Vermont Extension will hold a crops and soils field day, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with check-in from 9:30-10 a.m. (exhibitors: set up by 9:30 a.m.)
The event will showcase agricultural research conducted by UVM Extension’s Northwest Crops and Soils (NWCS) team, which is led by Heather Darby, with a guided tour of Borderview Research Farm in Alburgh. Attendees can experience more live demonstrations of technology and skills, including: autonomous weeding robots from Greenfield Robotics; soil health sampling with the Soil Health Research and Extension Center (SHREC) team; precision agriculture. The event is Free for farmers, $30 per person for non-farmers. A barbecue lunch by Cold Hollow Catering is included, as well as ice cream bars from Ben & Jerry’s. This event will be held rain or shine, at Borderview Research Farm, located at 487 Line Road, Alburgh, VT 05440.
