Drug Related Break-ins Plague Area Towns

Suspect vehicle captured by Walden homeowner’s security camera

WALDEN/HARDWICK — Troopers from the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks received reports of burglaries at four separate, private residences located along Vermont Route 15 in Walden. The calls came in Sunday, Feb. 4, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. None of the residences were occupied at the time of the burglaries.

State police say the investigation is in its initial stages and no further information is available at this time. They are asking anyone with information about the burglaries to contact Trooper Evan Johnson or Trooper Chad Weikel at the St. Johnsbury Barracks, (802) 748 3111.

Those and another break-in several weeks ago in Woodbury have some area residents concerned for their safety.

Tuesday, Hardwick Police Chief Mike Henry said, “This activity seems to be in areas around Hardwick and not here in town. The chief suggested that “people be vigilant, lock their doors, and make calls right away when they see suspicious activity,” because “any delay can make it harder to follow leads.”

Hardwick Police can be called day or night at 802-472-5475.
