Retail Theft, Domestic Assault
On May 12, the Hardwick Police Department responded to a reported Retail Theft from the Aubuchon Hardware store on Vt. Rte. 15 in Hardwick. Investigation revealed that Logan Ballard, of Woodbury, had stolen a Delta shower fixture valued at nearly $120. Ballard was cited into Caledonia County Superior Court for June 24 to answer to this charge. This is just one of several cases Ballard has pending in the Vermont Superior Court system.
On May 18, at approximately 2:24 a.m., Hardwick Police with the assistance of Morrisville PD and the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a residence on Dutton Road in Hardwick for a report of a Domestic Assault. Investigation led to the arrest of Promise Kempton, of Hardwick. Kempton was charged with Domestic Assault x2, Assault on Law Enforcement with bodily fluids x2, Assault on Law Enforcement x1, Cruelty to Child x1, and crime committed in the presence of child x1. Kempton is to appear in Caledonia Criminal Court on Monday, May 20 at 12:30 p.m.
