VERGENNES — The Snelling Center for Government announces that John Gordon of Woodbury has graduated from the Vermont Leadership Institute (VLU). The Class of 2024 celebrated with family members, colleagues and friends in attendance at graduation on June 1, at Basin Harbor in Vergennes.
Gordon is currently the director of Adult Protective Services for the Vermont Agency of Disabilities, Aging, and Independent Living. As a participant in the Vermont Leadership Institute (VLI), Gordon joined 22 other leaders from around the state for a series of eight overnight sessions designed to foster meaningful relationships and explore some of the most important issues facing Vermont.
With graduation as the culmination of the VLI journey, this year’s keynote address was delivered by Tracy Zschau (VLI ‘02), President and CEO of the Vermont Land Trust. She emphasized the importance of connection and collaboration across sectors, and reflected on leadership in Vermont, successes of her organization, and the impact that we all can make in the state.
The Class of 2024 is the 29th graduating class and Gordon now joins a professional network of over 1050 Vermont Leadership Network Alumni, including more than 700 VLI graduates who are positively influencing Vermont’s future in business, public policy, education, community development and a wide range of volunteer and non-profit sector roles.
