On July 14, at 4:08 a.m., Hardwick Police responded to a reported one-vehicle crash. The vehicle appears to have been southbound on Rte. 16 and did not stop at the intersection. The vehicle proceeded through the intersection hitting the embankment on the eastbound side of Rte. 15. The vehicle was a 2017 Toyota Rav4. The vehicle sustained severe front damage with airbag deployment. There was no one at the scene when the officer arrived. On July 17, Gary Umstead reported that his laptop computer was stolen from his vehicle while parked at Hardwick Electric on July 16. He was only there from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. If anyone has any information for this incident, please call the Hardwick Police Department.
On July 16, Michael Foreman called to report his company vehicle was struck while it was parked on South Main Street in the village of Hardwick. Foreman works for Xfinity and was working at 216 South Main St. His Chevrolet Express van was parked in the southbound parking space. Around 11:15 a.m., he saw a large truck traveling south strike the mirror on the driver’s side of his vehicle. He did not get a good look at the truck, but noticed it had a dark blue roll off dumpster on the back. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hardwick Police Department.
