Introduction to Land Trusts on Sept. 16

EAST CRAFTSBURY – Information on community land trusts will be presented by John Davis on Monday, Sept. 16, beginning at 6 p.m., at the East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church.

The event, presented by the Community Housing Forum, will introduce the community land trust model and how it can help us address housing needs. The trust is a community-based organization that owns land and develops permanently affordable homes and other lasting community assets. The forum will also introduce Headwaters Community Trust, a new community land trust organizing to serve the region.

John Davis is a co-founder of Burlington Associates and has spent over 40 years assisting land trusts and other nonprofit organizations engage in the production and stewardship of permanently affordable housing and community development. He will make a 30-minute presentation at 6 p.m. and be available until 7 p.m. for questions, after which the organizers of Headwaters Community Trust will be available to continue the conversation until 7:30.

The event is free. The East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church is located at 1773 East Craftsbury Road.
