CRAFTSBURY – Riding the momentum of a sizzling 2026 World Cup throughout North America this summer, the NEK Warriors will be hosting a pair of youth soccer camps next month in Craftsbury.
The CF Valencia Camp is set to run from August 3-7 and the UK Challenger Camp will run from August 10-14. The camps offer skills and training to a wide variety of age groups. Steve Fortmann and his NEK Warrior Soccer Program will host the camps in Craftsbury, capping off a successful summer soccer season that was punctuated by the playing of the Third Annual PolyWhey Cup at Hazen Union last month. Black River (NEK Warriors-Orleans County FC) defeated the Barre Stone Cutters 2-1, rekindling one of the oldest soccer rivalries in the state of Vermont.
Michelle Delaney helped develop the NEK Warrior Soccer Program for years in Cabot and the surrounding areas before handing it over to Fortmann a little over three years ago. Fortmann moved the Warriors to Hardwick, where it has grown exponentially. The program has expanded to full roster teams for both boys and girls in leagues that travel throughout the state.
Spots are still open for the UK Challenger Camp. For more information, contact Fortmann and his staff at [email protected].
