PLAINFIELD — A portion of U.S. Route 2 (U.S. 2) beginning 0.2 miles west of the intersection with Vermont Route 214 (Vt. 214) and continuing for approximately 1/3 of a mile, from mile marker 0.4 to mile marker 0.7, in Plainfield, will be closed and traffic will be detoured through September 30. The detour will utilize VT 214 and Vermont Route 14 (VT 14). Motorists should plan accordingly and seek alternate routes. Crews will be installing steel sheet piles and grouted soil nails to stabilize the edges of the road. The project is expected to be completed in October 2024.
