Arrest Warrants, Two-Vehicle Crash
On Tuesday, Sept 24, Morristown Police, Vermont State Police and Hardwick Police arrested Justin Douglass, of Hardwick, at a residence on Bunker Hill Road in Hardwick. Douglass was wanted on federal and state arrest warrants. He was taken into custody without incident and he was subsequently lodged at Northwest Correctional Complex in St. Albans. Douglass was additionally issued a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court, Criminal Division on November 4 for the charges of resisting arrest and careless and negligent operation. These charges were the result of an incident that occurred on September 22.
On September 26, Morristown Police and Hardwick Police Departments arrested Colin Mercier, of Hardwick and Hunter Patten, of Hardwick, at a residence on Spring Street in Hardwick. Mercier was wanted on a federal arrest warrant and was lodged at Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury. Patten was wanted on two state arrest warrants out of Lamoille County for cocaine possession, narcotic possession, cocaine sale and heroin possession. Patten was lodged at Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Hardwick Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Mill Street near the post office in Hardwick. Lucien Cloutier, of Hardwick, was operating his 2020 Toyota Camrey exiting the post office parking lot. Corey Bowen, of Walden, was operating a 2013 Honda CRV traveling east on Mill Street. Cloutier did not properly yield to oncoming traffic and pulled out in front of Bowen’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained moderate front end damage from the impact and needed to be towed from the scene. There were no reported injuries.
