Two-Vehicle Crash, Missing Person
A two-vehicle accident with minor injuries occurred on Vt. Rte. 15, 0n October 2, at 11:45 a.m., approximately 500 feet west of Bailey Farm Road in the vicinity of the Lamoille Collision Center. This area was a work zone and just west of the collision center was one way traffic being controlled by flagmen from ADA Traffic Control of Colchester while Eustis Cable of Brookfield was performing cable work.
Katherine Goyette, of Corinth, was traveling westward on Vt. Rte 15 in a 2024 Ford F250 and had been stopped by a flagman. While she was stopped, Barbara Hever, of Hardwick, who had just left Bailey Farm Road and was traveling westward on Vt. Rte. 15 in a 2014 Ford Escape, did not notice the stopped pick-up truck and ran into the back of it. Hever received a minor cut on her head. Hever was issued a traffic ticket for violation of T23VSA1081(a)-Failure to control her vehicle with an accident resulting.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, Hardwick Police received a report of a missing person. Kathleen Viens, of Hardwick, left her residence for a walk around 7 p.m. Viens is described as 5-feet tall, 130 lbs., shoulder length light brown hair, wearing light blue “Rockport” sweatshirt, black capri pants and red baseball hat. Hardwick Fire Department members, Vermont State Police Search and Rescue and New England Canine have been searching for Viens throughout the night. At this point, Viens has not been located. Viens may be disoriented. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hardwick Police Department.
Update: Missing person Kathleen Viens from Hardwick has been located.
