President Amends Vermont Disaster Declaration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Monday, President Joseph R. Biden Jr. made additional disaster assistance available to the State of Vermont by authorizing an increase in the level of federal funding for public assistance projects undertaken in the State of Vermont as a result of severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides from July 7 to July 21, 2023.

Under the President’s major disaster declaration issued for the State of Vermont on July 14, 2023, federal funding was made available for public assistance, hazard mitigation, and other needs assistance at 75 percent of the total eligible costs.         

Under the President’s order, the federal share for public assistance has been increased to 90 percent of the total eligible costs, except for assistance previously approved at 100 percent for a limited time period.
