WOODBURY – On Monday, Nov 18, at 9:08 a.m., the Woodbury Fire Department (WFD) was dispatched to a roof on fire at 2441 County Road in Woodbury. The call was upgraded to a working fire assignment per protocol, which called in Hardwick and East Montpelier fire departments for mutual aid. WFD engine 4 arrived to see fire showing through the roof. The crew advanced a 1-3/4 inch hose line to the second floor and attacked a heavy volume of fire in the attic. The fire was quickly brought under control.
There was extensive fire damage to the roof and attic with water damage to the remainder of the home. There were no injuries.
The fire was the result of a chimney fire that spread to the combustible roof structure.
