Drug Paraphernalia, Vehicle Pursuit

On December 13, OCSD received a complaint of a suspicious person at the Hilliker’s Store in Newport Center. On arrival, L.T. Wells found two occupants slumped over and unconscious in the vehicle with a lot of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. After waking the occupants and giving a false name, Lt. Wells tried to get the occupants out of the vehicle to investigate for a DUI. Prior to the operator exiting the vehicle, the male operator fled from the scene with his driver’s door open and Lt. Wells in proximity. Lt. Wells pursued the vehicle for approximately five miles until discontinuing due to road conditions and weather. After further investigation, the occupants of the vehicle were identified as Robert Dragon, of Hardwick, and Jessica Hunt.
