HARDWICK – On December 11, at 12:30 p.m., the Hardwick Fire Department was toned for mutual aid to Wolcott for a structure fire. Engine 2 and the tanker responded. Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the workshop-storage shed with no damage to the nearby residence. All Hardwick personnel and apparatus were back in quarters around 5:30. p.m.
On December 17 at 7:36 a.m., Hardwick Fire Department was toned to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Vt. Highway 15 E in Hardwick, along with Hardwick Rescue Squad and Hardwick Police Department. Engines 1 and 2 responded. On arrival there was one vehicle in the roadway and the other was off the travel portion of the road. Both vehicles sustained serious damage. Traffic was reduced to one lane for about 45 minutes. Thank you to all the people passing by and in the nearby business that assisted the occupants of both vehicles before Fire, EMS and Hardwick PD arrived on scene.
