HARDWICK — On December 14, at 4 p.m., Mark Clecierski, from Craftsbury, parked his brown 2011 Honda CRV in the parking lot by the Village Diner. When he returned the following morning at 5 a.m., he found damage to the left quarter panel and bumper caused by another vehicle that had left the scene of the accident. If you witnessed this or have information on this accident, please contact the Hardwick Police Department.

On December 18, Donna Corpaci reported her vehicle stolen from her residence on Rte. 16 in East Hardwick. The vehicle was a 2017 silver Chevy Trax. On December 20 the vehicle was located by Boynton Beach Police Department unoccupied in a parking garage in Boynton Beach, Fla.. No charges have been filed at this time.

On December 19, between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and noon,  two gift cards were taken from a mailbox on Dimick Road in East Hardwick. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Hardwick Police Department.

On Thursday, December 19, at approximately 2 p.m., Hardwick Police stopped a vehicle on Dale Street in Hardwick. Serina Flood, of Walden, and Seth Demo, of Walden, were passengers in the vehicle and they both had warrants for their arrest. Flood had two warrants out of Caledonia Superior Court: one for unlawful trespass and the other for petit larceny. After contacting the court, Flood was released on a citation to appear in Caledonia County Court on December 23. Demo had two warrant out of Lamoille Superior Court, which were both for probation violations. Demo was transported to Lamoille Superior Court. He was released by the court on new conditions.

On December 21, at approximately 2:25 p.m., the Hardwick Police Department was dispatched to the area of Vermont Route 16 near the rail trail crossing north of the Bayley Hazen Road for the report of a single vehicle crash with a vehicle off the road. Upon arrival the officer observed a 2003 gray Mitsubishi Outlander registered to Stacy Cotnoir of Barton, over the embankment on the east side of the road. There had been a significant snowfall the night before and the roads were still snow covered. There was evidence in the snow on the side of the highway that the vehicle had been headed north and lost control. No one was with the vehicle and at this time it is not known who had been operating the SUV at the time of this incident or if there were other vehicles involved.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, at approximately 1 p.m., Hardwick Police received a report of a pedestrian that was struck by an eastbound vehicle on Wolcott St. in front of the Union Bank in Hardwick. This photo, is believed to be of the suspect  vehicle, described as a dark colored Nissan sedan with a Vermont registration tag, that did not stop. The juvenile sustained a minor injury, which did not require medical attention. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Hardwick Police Department.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, at approximately 1 p.m., Hardwick Police received a report of a pedestrian that was struck by an eastbound vehicle on Wolcott St. in front of the Union Bank in Hardwick. The suspect    vehicle, which was described as a dark colored Nissan sedan with a Vermont registration tag, did not stop. The juvenile sustained a minor injury, which did not require medical attention. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Hardwick Police Department.

On December 25, Michael Ewen, of Hardwick, was operating a 2010 Honda Accord when he was stopped for erratic operation on Vermont Route 15 in Hardwick. As a result, Ewen was arrested and charged with DWI#2 – refusal and criminal DLS. He was released on a Court Citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on January 13.

On December 26, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Patrick Ducharme, from Hardwick, was backing his 2021 Ford F350 dump/plow truck from 307 Wolcott St. onto Wolcott Street as Pamela Avery, from Francestown, N.H., was traveling westward on Wolcott St. in her 2019 Toyota Prius. The trailer hitch on the dump/plow truck struck the left front and rear doors, and rear bumper of the Prius as it was driving by causing extensive damage to the Prius. There was no damage to the plow truck. No injuries were reported.

On December 29, the Hardwick Police Department was notified by the landlord of 170 School St. that sometime the previous night had shut the water off under the apartment building and some of the copper piping had been cut. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Hardwick Police Department.

On Saturday, Jan. 4, at approximately 10:58 a.m., Hardwick Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on West Hill Road, within the intersection of Wapanaki Road, in Hardwick. Ryan McDonnell, of Hardwick, was operating his 2005 Ford truck west on West Hill and Joseph Walker-Brazie, of Hardwick, was operating his 1998 Dodge truck eastbound on West Hill. McDonnell cut the left corner too sharp and went into the eastbound lane. The front of Walker-Brazie’s truck collided with the rear of McDonnell’s truck. There were no reported injuries. McDonnell was at fault for the crash, however, no citations were issued.
