MONTPELIER — The T.W. Wood Gallery will have two new exhibits opening in February 2025, with young Vermont artists and the work of a New York artist.

An exhibit of Montpelier High School art and poetry from students enrolled in the creative writing class who have been crafting poetry with a collaboration with the portfolio art class in an engaging Ekphrastic Poetry project. Creative writing students responded to selected 2D and 3D artwork created by their peers, then the writing students explored their favorite colors through poetry, inspiring Portfolio students to create visual interpretations of these color-themed poems.
In an exhibit, “Alchemy of a Slow Revolution,” Hawley Hussey, a New York artist and educator working at the intersection of visual art, the written word, and performance, will present her latest exhibit in the Nuquist Gallery. Hussey’s collection of paintings, prints, and written narratives will be on display. In May 2024, Nauset Press published her tall tale memoir, “The Lonesome Threesome.” Following the release, Hussey has been actively engaging audiences with exhibitions, readings, workshops and conferences around the world.
The gallery is located at 46 Barre Street (enter on Monsignor Crosby Ave.),
