Donald Trump, a convicted felon himself, pardoned the 1,500 January 6 rioters, essentially giving the finger to our judicial system and the brave police officers who defended the Capitol on that infamous day.
All of those felons had their day in court: a lawyer to represent them and a trial by jury. Now, in an attempt to rewrite history for his own advantage, Trump tosses our 250-year-old judicial system and the severely injured Capitol police under the bus. Felon Trump would have us believe that his actions on January 6, 2020, like those of the rioters, were innocent of all wrong-doing.
Now, those felons are released back into their communities. Jacob Chansley, dubbed the QANON shaman for his horned-animal headdress he wore that day at the Capitol, said on his release: “Now I’m gonna buy some mutha f*cking guns”. Proud Boy leader, Enrique Tarrio, and Oathkeeper leader, Stewart Rhodes, both serving multi-year sentences for seditious conspiracy, are now free to “stand down and stand by” for the next time Trump needs them to do his dirty work.
