Pickpocket, One-Vehicle Crash
On December 31, at approximately 9 a.m., Serina Flood, of Hardwick, pickpocketed a man while he was walking towards the D & L Store in East Hardwick. A short time later Flood received a ride from a female and the female reported that Flood stole her purse. Flood was arrested and issued a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court, February 10, for the charges of two counts of petit larceny.
On January 29, at approximately 7:48 a.m., Hardwick Police were notified of a one-vehicle crash on Mill Street. A 2014 Ford pickup operated by Stephen Hooper of E. Hardwick slid off the road and hit a fire hydrant. The truck sustained minor damage. The fire hydrant broke off its base and was leaking. The accident is under investigation. If anyone witnessed the accident, please contact the Hardwick Police Department.
On the morning of February 3, the owners of Authentic Log Homes of Vermont, which is located at 1670 Craftsbury Road in Hardwick, discovered a burglary of their business which occurred sometime during the overnight hours. The perpetrator(s) broke into one of the secure buildings and stole between $8,000 to $9,000 worth of tools. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Hardwick Police Department.
