Baguette-making, March 8

Share article

CRAFTSBURY – A session on baguette-making will be held March 8, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at United Church of Craftsbury. This is a Grow Your Own workshop led by Martha Machia, who works at Salvation Farms and has worked for bakeries in the area including Red Hen. She will lead the group in a hand-mixed baguette activity to understand the fundamentals of gluten formation, flour hydration, basic shaping techniques-all without a mixer. Every participant will go home with the dough they have made in the workshop, to be baked at home. Pre-register by March 6, as space is limited. Grow Your Own is a project of the Hardwick Area Food Pantry and the Center for an Agricultural Economy, and the event is free. For questions or concerns, email [email protected]
