BARRE – Solas, a Celtic ensemble, takes the Barre Opera House stage on Friday, Feb. 28, 8 p.m.
Since forming in New York City in 1995, Solas has been an element in the Irish music scene with talent and inspiration that is known for musicianship, repertoire and intensity. Over the course of 12 albums and international touring, Solas has brought the traditions of Irish music to the world.
Appearing with the group at the Barre Opera House will be John Williams on concertina and button accordion; on flute and vocals Nuala Kennedy; guitarist, bouzouki player and singer Alan Murray and founding members Winifred Horan on fiddle and Seamus Egan handling flute, tenor banjo, guitar, mandolin, tin whistle and low whistle.
