Farmer and author John Churchman of Essex reads from one of his children’s books to Lakeview Elementary School preschoolers through third graders, April 17. He brought his two border collies Tosh (center) and Laddie (front) who are featured in his books. Churchman has written eight children’s books about the 80 animals on his farm and one on photography. The program was sponsored by the Greensboro Free Library (GFL). At right is GFL youth librarian Emily Purdy.
