BARRE – On May 24, at 7 p.m., The Barre Opera House presents Opera Vermont’s production of Verdi’s “La Traviata,” featuring the Italian soprano Scilla Cristiano in her American debut as Violetta Valéry.
Cristiano brings her voice and artistry to the role of Violetta, a Parisian courtesan who falls in love with the noble Alfredo Germont.
Verdi’s melodies and arias are performed by a cast and orchestra under the baton of conductor, and Opera Vermont’s music director, Cailin Marcel Manson.
