GREENSBORO – Jeff Pierpont, interim minister of the Greensboro United Church of Christ, will offer a two-part public lecture series this summer exploring the historical and moral legacy of the Holocaust.
“The Landscape of Memory: Walking Through the Holocaust in Poland” will be presented Tuesday, June 24, 6:30 p.m., and “The Holocaust and the Power of One” lecture will be Tuesday, July 15, 6:30 p.m. The lectures will blend historical insight with personal reflection. Both lectures will be held at the Highland Center for the Arts.
The series is based on Pierpont’s 2024 participation in an intensive seminar on Holocaust education, sponsored by the Simon Wiesenthal Center and New Brunswick Theological Seminary. His journey included research at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, as well as visits to Treblinka, Chelmno, Plaszow, the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camps and other key Holocaust memorial sites. The lectures are free and open to the public. For more information, email [email protected]
