BARRE – Former U-32 and University of Rhode Island (URI) star Bryson Richards, fired a 9-under round of 62 last week at the Country Club of Barre, setting a new course record.
The powerful lefty carded 8 birdies and an eagle on the day to go out in 30 and come home in 32. Richards finished up a stellar career at URI last year with a school record 6 collegiate wins. His dream to make the PGA tour recently gained momentum, securing conditional status on PGA Americas feeder tour. If Richards brings his current form to his remaining tournaments, positive results could possibly gain him status into the PGA’s Korn Ferry Tour. He has missed his first two cuts in Canada but will get back at it in the coming weeks in Ottawa and Ontario.
