SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Vermont creameries won big at this year’s annual American Cheese Society competition, taking home 49 ribbons. Jasper Hill swept the competition, taking second best of show honors for its Withersbrook Blue. They gathered eight first place ribbons, two second place and four third.

Cabot Creamery scored first for salted butters with Euro Style salted butter, and second place in the same category with regular salted butter. Cabot’s Creme Fraiche also took first place. They gained six first place ribbons, four for second place and five for third.
The competition took place in Sacramento, Calif., featuring cheeses from across the continent. The judges evaluated cheeses based on technical and aesthetic qualities of each cheese.
