Local woman trespasses Walmart
BERLIN – On September 21, officers from the Berlin Police Department were conducting a foot patrol at the Berlin Mall, when Walmart employees approached them about a female, Tonja Cochran of Hardwick, who was sitting in the entrance way. Officers were advised that the female had been there for over four hours, and they would like her trespassed. During the course of the interaction, Cochran refused to leave Walmart after being advised by officers that her continued presence would constitute trespassing. After multiple warnings for Cochran to leave the property and her refusal, she was taken into custody for trespassing. Cochran was processed at the Berlin Police Department for unlawful trespass. She was issued a citation in Vermont Superior Court, Washington Criminal Division, on November 6, at 8:30 a.m., to answer the above charge.
