MARSHFIELD – On July 7, at 9:16 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the Town of Marshfield. Through investigation it was revealed the accused, Sydney Walden of Marshfield, unlawfully restrained, interfered with their ability to contact emergency services and caused serious bodily harm to multiple household members. Walden was subsequently placed under arrest for the aforementioned charges. During the arrest, Walden resisted arrest and assaulted a law enforcement officer. Walden was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing and later to Northeast Correctional Complex, where he was held without bail.
Walden was issued a citation to appear in court on July 8 at 12:30 p.m., to answer the above charges of First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest, Assault On A Law Enforcement Officer, Interference With Access To Emergency Services and Unlawful Restraint In The Second Degree.
ST. JOHNSBURY – On July 7, at approximately 7:50 p.m., a trooper assigned to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 91 near mile marker 132 when a vehicle was observed traveling southbound in the northbound travel lanes. Troopers immediately responded and safely intercepted the vehicle near mile marker 131. The operator was identified as Norman Gravel of Hardwick. Following the investigation, Gravel was issued a criminal citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on July 27, at 8:30 p.m., to answer to the charge of Gross Negligent Operation.
