CABOT — Cabot Fire responded to a car fire on U.S. Rte. 2 Sunday afternoon. The operator of the vehicle was uninjured, however, the vehicle was a total loss. A brief closure of Rte. 2 was required during fire suppression efforts. All three Cabot apparatus and 11 Cabot firefighters responded. They were assisted by mutual aid partners from Marshfield Fire and Walden Fire. “We are greatly appreciative of their prompt response and support during the incident,” said the social media post. The call occurred less than a month after the Cabot Department’s recent training on motor vehicle incidents, including car fires.
