Building heat and humidity through Friday, scattered showers, thunderstorms

HARDWICK – While the weather’s been temperate, precipitation is well above average for the month and we dipped below zero.

After a sunny and dry Tuesday, some fog will be possible once again overnight into Wednesday morning. The upcoming forecast period holds chances for scattered showers starting early Wednesday and persisting with building heat and humidity through Friday. Chances for showers and a few thunderstorms return over the weekend with temperatures cooling towards normal by early next week.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Light south wind. A slight chance of showers between noon and 2 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Chance of precipitation 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Overnight low around 63.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84 and a light west wind. A chance of showers before 2 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm from 2 until 5 p.m. Showers likely late. Chance of precipitation 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, overnight with a low around 64 and calm wind. Chance of precipitation 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 89 and a 50 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. Light south wind. A chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 p.m. Overnight low around 61 with light south wind and a 50% chance of precipitation.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83, but showers likely before 8 a.m. with calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 60%. Partly cloudy overnight, with a low around 56 and calm wind.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon. A 30 percent chance of showers. Sunday night brings a low chance for showers, partly cloudy, with a low around 52 and calm wind.
