LYLE R. REMICK SR.

WINOOSKI – Lyle Robert Remick Sr., 78, of St. Albans, formerly of Winooski. died on Sunday, March 24, at the Homestead Senior Living Center in St. Albans, following a lingering illness. His loving family was by his side.

He was born August 7, 1945, in Concord, one of seven children born to the late Henry and Charlotte (Smith) Remick. He was a graduate of Burlington High School in the class of 1965.

He proudly served his country in the U S Navy. Lyle was Honorably Discharged on October 14, 1968.

He married Arlene Frances Tarleton on August 12, 1966 in Pomfret. Together they raised seven children.

Lyle was employed by several businesses in the Burlington area including Green Mountain Power, Hager Hardware Store and General Electric, for more than 25 years. He retired due to health disabilities.

Lyle was a past-vice president for Foster Parents Association in the State of Vermont; a member of the Lions Club in Georgia, the Elks Club in Burlington, and the American Legion Post No. 100 in Montpelier. He was a Boy Scout Leader and a tee-ball coach for girls, both in Winooski. He enjoyed camping on his property in Wolcott, hunting, and sugaring with his family in Hardwick.

Survivors include seven children, Lyle Remick II of Georgia, Todd Remick of Colchester, Bradley Remick of Florida, David Remick of Shelburne, Ned Remick, of Winooski, Holly Michaela Thomas of Georgia, and Sandra Remick of Swanton; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five siblings, Margaret Ryan of Burlington, Carol Schoonmaker of Georgia, H. Arthur Remick of Shoreham, Louise Brewster of Essex and Hilah Clarke of Essex Center; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lyle was predeceased by his wife Arlene in 2008, a brother Richard Remick, and a granddaughter, Amanda Dion.

To honor his request there will be no services.
