HYDE PARK – Lamoille County Players will hold auditions for Roald Dahl’s “Matilda, The Musical,” directed by Kenneth Greiner and Patricia Jacob. The audition dates will be April 27 and April 28, at Lamoille Union High School Auditorium. Performance dates will be July 18 to 21 and July 25 to 28.

Roald Dahl’s children’s novel, “Matilda,” was published in 1988. The novel was adapted in a 1996 movie directed by Danny Devito. It tells the story of a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers who, with the support of her teacher, tries to rid her school of its evil headmistress Miss Trunchbull. The musical adaptation received its West End (London) premiere in 2011 and its Broadway premiere in 2013.
