HARDWICK – Two public hearings will be held in Hardwick’s Memorial Building before the September 5 select board meeting at 6 p.m.
At 5 p.m. there will be a public hearing to take comments from the public regarding proposed changes to the town’s Unified Development Bylaws. The changes provide additional housing development options in areas served by municipal water and sewer infrastructure, provide for a more flood-resilient community and expand the Village Neighborhood into the Compact Residential district.
Then, at 5:45 p.m. a public hearing will be held to hear from citizens and share information about an application the Town of Hardwick is considering making to the State of Vermont in partnership with Heartbeet Lifesharing, for an Implementation Grant of $112,587 under the Vermont Community Development Program. The grant would pay for increased first-year costs at the facility due to a new residence built to be funded entirely by Heartbeet Lifesharing. The residence will provide three new spots for Vermonters with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving services 365 days per year.
