Senator Doyle Made History Relevant

Share article

To the editor:

I really appreciated Mike Metcalf’s tribute to Senator Doyle in the August 28 Hardwick Gazette. Thanks to him for writing it.

I used to eat lunch with Senator Doyle and his assistant, Sandy Noyes, Paul Silver and a couple of other faculty members after I began teaching at NVU-J during the day in Fall 2015.

Senator Doyle made history relevant for his students, most notably through his project to make documentaries on each of Vermont’s counties. He encouraged his students to interview dozens of citizens in each of these counties as part of creating these videos.
