To the editor:
Remember the old saying, “Liar, liar pants on fire?” It is amazing that Donald J. Trump, convicted felon and sexual abuser, has not yet self-immolated by his outrageous lies!
Take for example his assertion that the Biden-Harris administration squandered FEMA money by buying housing for immigrants, implying that victims of Hurricane Helene had no possibility of recovery, leaving them confused and without hope. It was a devastating lie that threatened emergency responses in that hurricane disaster, and demoralized emergency responders. And the upshot of all this, is that Trump himself in 2019 transferred $155 million of FEMA disaster relief money to pay for immigration enforcement. Trump’s response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico: lob paper towel rolls to the devastated islanders!
And now, he falsely claims that Kamala Harris didn’t actually work at McDonald’s as a teenager, even though it is easily proven, just to rile up the MAGA fanatics attending his rallies.
Continual lying is a serious character flaw. Do you as a voter really want a serial liar as your President, who warps and weaponizes false rumors like “Haitians eating dogs and cats” merely for publicity?
