HARDWICK – Last week’s story should have been titled, “Hazen Union Students Learn Emergency First-Aid Skills.” Emergency first responders is a certification which requires training beyond the first-aid skills students learned at the Governor’s Institute program they attended.

The body of the story should have indicated the program gave students opportunities to become certified as Vermont Emergency First Responders (VEFR), a step toward becoming an EMT, but not implied they had become VEFRs.

Also last week, the candidate interviews, “Representative Candidates for Lamoille-Washington House District Share Views,” should have indicated “Republicans Charles Burnham and Nick Lopez obtained enough write-in votes in the primary to be added to the ballot for the November 5 general election,” and not that they “were added to the ballot by that party’s caucus.”
