The article last week, “Wolcott Landowner Conserves 286-acre Parcel” was written by Clive Gray.
The story last week, “Statewide Voter Turnout Lower, Mixed Locally,” seemed at odds with the Vermont Secretary of State’s report of higher voter turnout. Both turn out to be correct in an appropriate context. 372,885 voters came out to vote this year, 1,917 more than the 370,968 voters in 2020. The 72.12% of registered voters who turned out to vote in 2024 was less than the 73.26% in 2020 because there were significantly more registered voters in 2024 with 517,051, vs. the 506,312 in 2020.
