ALBANY – Linda June Libby, 73, of Albany passed away November 8, at her home. She was born August 2, 1951, in East Hartford, Conn., to the late Hugh and Mary (Freeman) McIlvane.
Linda graduated from Penney High School in East Hartford, Conn., before going on to graduate from the University of Rhode Island, class of 1973. She then obtained her master’s degree in nursing online. She worked in the ICU at George Washington University Hospital and taught nursing at Norwich University. Linda worked at Copley Hospital in Morrisville, Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, before finishing her career in the emergency room at North Country Hospital.
She had an incredible smile and a great laugh, was a brilliant, kind and compassionate person. She was a very good listener and always handled difficult situations with dignity, especially at work. She loved to garden, travel especially to scuba dive in the Caribbean, reading and writing. She was also a member of the Four-seasons Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband Robert Libby, brother Bill McIlvane, sister-in-law Kathie Rarity and husband David, cousins Denise and Donna Caye.
She was predeceased by her parents and uncle Bill Caye.
