CRAFTSBURY COMMON – Beryl (Brown) Sweatt, 84, of Craftsbury Common, passed away peacefully after a long illness on December 14.
Born on March 26, 1940, in Newbury, to Margaret (Morrison) Brown and Paul Brown, Beryl was a lifelong resident of the Craftsbury area. She graduated from Craftsbury Academy in 1958 and held various jobs throughout her life, including working as a cook and housekeeper for Miss Jean Simpson and a seamstress at a glove factory in St. Johnsbury.
Beryl’s life was marked by both joy and resilience. She married Patrick (Pat) Warren on September 14, 1963, but tragically lost him to a logging accident just two years later while pregnant with their son, Patrick. In 1971, she found love again and married Allen (Bunny) Sweatt.
Beryl will be remembered for her love of snowmobiling, dancing, and spending time with family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Beryl was predeceased by her husbands Patrick Warren and Allen Sweatt, her parents Margaret and Paul Brown, her sisters Gloria Keith and Carolyn Tremblay, her son Patrick Warren, and her grandson Wesly Warren.
She is survived by her sisters Judy Locke and Joyce Washburn, daughter-in-law Michelle Warren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life to honor Beryl’s life will be held at the United Church of Craftsbury on Saturday, January 4, at 1 p.m.
